Program Goals

We use positive feedback and praise to help children succeed in exploring new activities, experiencing adventure and making new friends. Our creative and caring early childhood educators (staff) encourage the development of social skills, responsibility, and life skills. We develop activities that are age- and ability-appropriate and encourage all children to be involved. We build a trusting, open and fair atmosphere in our programs where children can express themselves in comfort and with confidence. We make ourselves available to spend one-on-one time with each child where possible. Our early childhood educators (staff) have made a commitment to make Kidz In The Park – Child Care & Out of School Care Centre “home away from home” for your infant/child.

Our Team Philosophy

At Kidz in the Park Daycare & OSC in Sherwood Park, Alberta, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, included, and confident. Childhood is a time for wonder, discovery, meaningful connections, and learning through everyday experiences.

Our approach to early childhood education is rooted in play-based learning, positive relationships, and the belief that every child learns and grows in their own unique way.

We create a welcoming, nurturing environment where children feel a sense of belonging, build friendships, express themselves, and develop confidence in their abilities.

Through creative activities, hands-on experiences, outdoor play, and opportunities to explore their interests, children develop curiosity, imagination, problem-solving skills, and a lifelong love of learning.

With encouragement, positive guidance, and supportive relationships, children learn to communicate, cooperate, make choices, solve problems, and develop independence and responsibility.

We respect each child’s unique personality, culture, abilities, interests, and pace of development. We strive to create an inclusive environment where diversity is celebrated and every child feels accepted and appreciated.

We value strong partnerships with families and believe open communication and collaboration help children thrive. By working together, we support each child’s well-being, development, and transition through their early learning years.
